Guest Lecture on Autism by Ms. Garima Srivastava

On Thursday, 30th of July, a guest lecture was organized by CCDC and Department of Psychology for the students of Psychology Honours and Masters of Psychology. The resource person was Ms. Garima Srivastava, Founder and Governing Body member of Approach Autism Society, Jaipur. She is a RCI (Rehabilitation Council of India) certified resource person.

Her lecture mainly focused on what Autism Spectrum Disorders are and  she gave practical examples from her life so that the students could easily connect with her she also added that there is a need for trained professionals in this field. She explained the symptoms of Autism. She also describe about various techniques which can be use with Autism kids to manage their problems and symptoms and the procedure of learning these techniques during the training.

Ms. Srivastava also gave information regarding the training at Approach Autism, her interactive lecture motivated the students to join Approach Autism training. Also, she explained the value of therapy and inspired the students to gain practical exposure which would in future add to their theoretical knowledge.

Also, students who had already done training in Approach Autism shared their experiences of working with Autistic children.

In conclusion, the guest lecture was informative and inspirational for both students and teachers.
