A visit to Bhargava’s Psychiatry de-addiction and child and elderly care  centre was conducted for master's students of Psychology department semester 1 on 2nd September. The purpose of the visit was to gain insights into the treatment methods and facilities available at the centre.

Upon arrival, the students were greeted by the staff and given a brief introduction to the centre's mission and objectives. The students were then guided through the various departments and units, where they were shown the different treatment approaches employed for addiction recovery and the specialised care provided to children and elderly individuals with psychiatric conditions.

Throughout the visit, detailed explanations were provided by the centre’s personnel, who highlighted the importance of a holistic approach to addiction treatment and the significance of creating a nurturing environment for the well-being of children and the elderly. The students were able to observe firsthand the therapies and interventions used to address the diverse needs of the patients.

The centre’s facilities were found to be well-maintained and equipped with modern amenities. The students were shown the residential areas for patients, including separate units for children and the elderly, where they received personalised care and support. The students also had the opportunity to interact with some of the residents and gain a better understanding of their experiences and challenges.

Towards the end of the visit, the students had a question and answer session with the centre’s director, who provided additional insights into the centre’s initiatives, future plans, and internship opportunities . The director emphasised the importance of raising awareness about Mental Health.

Overall, the visit to the de-addiction and child and elderly care psychiatric centre was a valuable learning experience for the master's students. It provided them with a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by individuals dealing with different disorders and psychiatric conditions, as well as the approaches taken to address their needs. The visit also highlighted the significance of multidisciplinary collaboration and community support in providing effective care and treatment.
