Guest lecture on Rehabilitation counselling: With special references to people with disability

The Department of psychology organized a guest lecture on ‘Rehabilitation counselling: With special references to people with disability’ for  P.G students on 20th Jan 2017.

Prof. Gawali is the Head of department of applied psychology, University of Mumbai. He is also the coordinator for Mahatma Gandhi peace centre, University of Mumbai.

Prof. Gawali focussed on kindling intellect and augmenting awareness regarding the positive approach of dealing with disabled persons. He also said that the society is adverse to accepting disabled persons  hence, The rights of persons with disabilities act, 2016  should endorse the rights of such people.

He was of view that psychological hindrances plague persons with disabilities but there are numerous ways to overcome them
