The Dept. Of Psychology organized a lecture on Specific Learning Disability by Ms. Vimla Venkatesan. She was welcomed with flowers by Prof. Roopa Mathur, Head, Dept. Of Psychology. Mrs. Venkatesan is the founder trustee of bhavani child development centre which is the 1^st centre in Jaipur to work with slow learners. She has been recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India. She has addressed teachers and parents across various cities such Chennai, Chandigarh, Bombay etc about the awareness of learning disabilities, on creating a functional curriculum to suit the learning style of children with Specific Learning Disabilities ( SLD),  She has also developed various assessment programs for slow learners at her non-profit centre such as PEPAL( Programme to Evaluate Performance and Learning) and a mathematics programme-Sankhya-gyan.Mrs Venkatesan said that specific learning disability is a disorder in which one or more of the basic psychological processes is involved in understanding or in using spoken or written language.
