Interactive Session on "Cyber Safety"

An interactive session was organised by the Discipline of Psychology in collaboration with the TrueCaller team and Rajasthan Police Academy on 17th November 2022.

The session began with a brief introduction and felicitation of the dignitaries, Mr Rajeev Sharma, IPS, Additional DGP cum Director, Rajasthan Police Academy (Chief Guest), Ms Pragya Misra Mehrishi (Director, Public Affairs at TrueCaller) and Major Vineet Kumar. The session was highlighting the importance of Cyber Awareness and Action and how it is the need of the hour in society.

Later, a session on #TrueCyberSafe was conducted by Dr Rakshit Tandon (Head – Of capacity Building, CyberPeace Foundation). The session was emphasizing on the various kinds of cyber crimes prevalent in the modern context and how adolescents become a victim of them. A multitude of crimes like phishing, identity theft, malware, security hacking and more were emphasized and how true caller application provides a security screening against the same was discussed with instances of various cases. There was a discussion on the various security measures which can be taken by users to secure their data and identities online. The session was extremely enriching and the students had the opportunity to clear their doubts and raise their concerns.

The session ended with an interactive Question and answer and feedback session and a vote of thanks were given to Dr Rakshit Tandon and his team.
