On 10th January, 2025, the department of Psychology organised ‘Unleashing your Potential: A transformative live session for aspiring Psychologists’, an Inspiring session by Ms. Kriti Verma at Aaditya Hall, IIS (Deemed to be) University.

Ms. Kriti Verma is an RCI-licensed psychologist and co-founder, Director and COO of Manastha Health Solutions, Noida. As a psychologist, she has made a profound impact on 1 million lives worldwide. Along with being instrumental in driving client acquisition and operational excellence at Manastha, she contributes to the growth of young entrepreneurs, inspiring them and helping foster students embark on a journey towards success.

Ms. Verma began her session by discussing How to talk to Crowds. She emphasized that whether one is a psychologist, influencer, or entrepreneur, understanding and engaging with one's audience is crucial. This can be achieved through various techniques, including effective communication, goal setting, branding, marketing, networking, and a solid knowledge base. She then outlined the current scope for psychology students, noting that jobs in psychology are not readily available and that there is a need for the creation of new positions in the field.

To help her audience connect with her, Ms. Kriti Verma shared the story of her firm during its initial stages, detailing how she started, the challenges she faced, and how she overcame them to achieve success. Today, Manastha stands as one of the leading mental health providers in India, having grown from an initial investment of ₹1,000 to a valuation of ₹90 crores.

Ms. Verma emphasized the importance of career mastery, explaining that there are two key paths to achieving it: self-branding and business development. She highlighted how these elements are essential for confidently engaging with the public and maintaining a positive self-image. Self-branding can be achieved through defining the ‘Unique Value Proposition’ or UVP which would allow oneself and the others to recognize one’s skills and expertise. She also discussed how developing a personal brand, building a portfolio, and networking can help aspiring psychologists create fulfilling careers for themselves and others.

She further highlighted the importance of genuine connections from profound professors in the field to professional experts in other fields like tech, finance or human resource. The role of social media platforms was stressed on, from both a marketing and a networking point of view. She mentioned various opportunities for the audience to learn from and engage with people who have immense experience in the business world. Additionally, Ms. Kriti provided the audience a career path which helped the budding psychologists plan their careers.

The session concluded with a quick question and answer round where the audience shared not only their queries but also showed their gratitude to the speaker.

Outcome: This session motivated psychology students to work towards building a better future. Ms. Verma also provided attendees with a guide that offered further valuable insights on how to build a resume, build profiles as well as meaningful connections on LinkedIn, and most importantly, it includes the list of corporates that can be approached by the students in order to flourish and advance in the field. This facilitated the student’s morale as well as their determination.
