The Department of psychology organized a 3 day basic workshop on Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) for P.G students from 23rd to 25th Jan 2017. The first day of the three day CBT Workshop began by first welcoming the resource person Mr. Rohan Pande and the organizers Dr. Deepika Shekhawat and Ms. Sejal Presswala.
The session began with an activity where each student had to introduce themselves. The concept of neuropath ways and neuroplasciticity was discussed in order to reinforce the idea that as thinking forms habit one can change their habits by rewiring the brain in a different manner. The session also included theory of CBT (history, philosophy and principles), the basics of thoughts, feelings and behaviour. The members were explained the actual cause of NAT (negative automatic thoughts ) with suitable examples, activities and role plays .Students were also taught various mental distortions and the techniques used to break each one of them.
