Orientation Programme-July 2016
The Department of Psychology organized an Orientation Programme for Freshers 2016 (Both Undergraduate and Postgraduate) on Wednesday,27th July 2016. The event was organised in order to familiarize the newcomers with the functioning of the department as well as make them gel in with their seniors at an informal level.
The Orientation Programme began at 11:00 am with a Traditional Welcome followed by the distribution of colourful name tags to all the new students. The event proceeded with an AV Movie presentation comprising of an Informal Musical Introduction of the teachers which not only filled enthusiasm within the audience but also kept everyone in splits.Then an interesting Ice breaking game cum Name introduction was held.
The programme was carried further with the words of the Dept. Head Dr. Chandrani Sen who acquainted the students with the course structure and departmental facilities at the university. This was added by an explanation of the credit system, examination pattern and a short discussion on the working of Metacampus by Dr. Roopa Mathur, Dean Academics.
Subsequently, another fun-filled Ice breaker was introduced which tapped the team building spirit of the participants by making them organise their individual alphabets to form Psychological terms flashing on the projector screen.
Afterwards Dr. Bhawna Arya, Additional Head of the Dept. acquainted the students with the various co-curricular activities held throughout the year on campus.
Then a Musical Skit was enacted by UG (H) & PG final year students displaying various phases of college life which ended with a huge round of applause from all. Finally an unexpected surprise came from the teachers who announced Ms. Charismatic Senior and Ms. Congenial Junior from the audience and gave them memorable presents to cherish for life.
The programme ended with a melodious feedback from the juniors and serving of refreshment.
