On completion of this course, the students will be able to:

CO106: Understand the major therapeutic approaches and the use of psychological forms of intervention

CO107: Acquire basic counselling skills of problem identification, and relationship building

CO108: Demonstrate knowledge of therapist’s role and the values by which   the therapist conducts counselling

CO109: Identify primary intervention techniques of the major counselling systems and the skills that are used across most forms of psychotherapy.

CO110: Formulate and conceptualise cases; plan and implement interventions utilising consistent theoretical orientation.

Interactive Lectures, Discussion, Tutorials, Reading assignments, Demonstration, Team teaching

Learning activities for the students:

Self-learning assignments, Effective questions, Simulation, Seminar presentation, Giving tasks, Field practical

Jungian analysis and therapy- theory of personality, analysis and therapy; Adlerian therapy: theory of personality, theory of therapy and counselling

Development of Psychodynamic Theories, Transactional Analysis, Brief Psychodynamic Therapy, Psychodrama
